Dr. Dieter Zetsche, Chairman of the Board of Management of Daimler and Head of Mercedes- Benz Cars Division, was the featured speaker at a breakfast meeting. In remarks followed by a conversation with President David M. Rubenstein, Dr. Zetsche discussed the state of the global auto industry and what the future might hold. He predicted that “electric mobility will become the dominant form of personal transportation, just not as fast as some people expected.” He also reminded President Rubenstein that “We have new ones” after President Rubenstein told Dr. Zetsche that he drives a 20-year-old Mercedes that never has problems.
