Bowser, Mayor of Washington, D.C.

Rochelle P.  Walensky,  MD,  MPH, is the 19th Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the ninth Administrator of the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry. Dr. Walensky served as Chief of the Division of Infectious Diseases at Massachusetts General Hospital from 2017-2020 and Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School from 2012-2020. She served on the frontline of the COVID-19 pandemic and conducted research on vaccine delivery and strategies to reach underserved communities.

The Honorable Muriel Bowser
Mayor of Washington, D.C.

Muriel Bowser is the eighth Mayor of the District of Columbia. Her first term began in January 2015, and she was re-elected in 2018. Bowser is the first woman ever reelected as the Mayor of Washington, DC and the first mayor to earn a second term in 16 years. Prior to becoming Mayor in 2015, Bowser served as the Ward 4 Councilmember, where she served as the Chairwoman of the Committee on Economic Development. Mayor Bowser first entered elected office in 2004, as an Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner in the Riggs Park neighborhood.
